Clinical Supervision for Occupational Therapists

Around the world, OTs typically work with one of three age groups: paediatric (0-18), adult (18-65) and geriatric (65+). This means that adolescents, teenagers, youth and young adults often receive inappropriate therapy supports that are not designed for their strengths, challenges, developmental changes and life stage.

Over the last 11 years, I have personally witnessed multiple paediatric OTs failing to adapt early intervention supports to teenagers, and adult OTs having no clue how to support young people with moving out of home, engaging in school or the impact puberty has on their global functional capacity.

Our young people miss out on the support they ACTUALLY need and deserve from us, because the current OT system isn't designed with their varied needs at the forefront. Young people are often an afterthought. Common interventions are square pegs trying to fit in round holes.

Having worked with this population for the better part of 11 years, it is my personal mission to empower my fellow OTs to not only be clinically competent, but to also feel confident, in supporting their young clients with disabilities, neurodivergence and mental health needs.

Whether this is selecting and conducting appropriate assessments, writing reports that successfully communicate current and anticipated support needs, providing effective capacity-building interventions that are evidence-based and grounded in neuroscience, or understanding the adolescent frameworks and therapy models to inform clinical reasoning, I am here to help you help them.

My Mission
The Low Down

I support OTs with varying levels of experience and skill sets, from university students, to new graduates, to clinical directors, area managers, sole traders and everyone in between.

I have proudly worn senior, team leadership, supervisory and clinical education hats since 2022. And I thrive on the challenges that these roles bring.

I use a variety of therapeutic frameworks and models throughout both my clinical and supervisory practice. But the "hills that I will die on" frameworks I use are trauma-informed, neuro-affirming, strengths-based and client-centred practice.

I charge the standard NDIS rate of $193.99 per hour for online clinical supervision. In-person supervision can be completed in Brisbane, with additional costs for travel. Discounted rates are available for group-based (4+ OTs) online or in-person sessions.

There is a 100% chance that I will come to our sessions with an oat matcha latte in hand and a 50% chance of seeing my fur-babies appear on screen!

If you think I could be a great fit for you and your supervision needs, please get in touch via the enquiry submission form below and we can work out a suitable plan, tailored to you. I look forward to working with you!
